Kirsty and Justin’s wedding was a perfect example of how a small, intimate wedding can still be filled with fun, laughter and plenty of stunning photography opportunities. As a North Wales wedding photographer, I’ve worked with many couples who prefer the idea of their wedding day to be relaxed and informal, but not at the expense of high quality professional wedding photos. Kirsty & Justin's intimate wedding was a perfect example of that.

Kirsty & Justin booked my intimate wedding photography package which gave them up to 3 hours coverage, starting just before the service & ending after a location photoshoot.

The ceremony took place at Pwllheli Registry Office and I arrived there 30 minutes before the ceremony as agreed and took a few casual shots of Justin & his best man whilst we waited for Kirsty & her bridesmaid to arrive. The best man & bridesmaid were the only other guests present and in a way this added to the closeness and intimacy of the occasion, with lots of laughter & joking around which helped everyone relax. I worked discreetly at the front of the registry office, capturing the laughter, the nerves, and the emotional exchanges without intrusion as far as the closeness and size of the room allowed. With the small wedding party, the registrars and myself being the only ones present, it actually felt as though we were all playing a much bigger part in the wedding that might be the case with a bigger occasion, which was really lovely & unexpected.

After the ceremony, we made our way to Abersoch Main Beach for a photoshoot with Kirsty, Justin, their wedding party & their dog. Abersoch Main Beach is a great place for photography as there is access right up to the shore for cars and it meant only a short walk onto the sandy beach & up to the sea. The plan was simple, not to over pose anything, just allow Kirsty & Justin to be themselves while occasionally making them laugh or pausing against the backdrop of a beach hut or taking advantage of the reflection in the sand to capture a shot.

One of the best things about being a photographer in Abersoch is the variety of locations available, and we made the most of them. While I kept the session light-hearted and fun, I also introduced a few more stylised, dramatic shots that took advantage of the stunning coastal views. Incorporating a documentary style into these posed images ensured that they still felt natural and reflected the couple’s personalities.

The entire beach photo shoot took around 30 minutes, during which we captured some great photos, that's all the time a professional photographer should ever need on location and I always make sure that the needs of the couple are put first and that the weather conditions or other factors are always taken into account.

This Abersoch wedding photography session was a reminder of why I love what I do—helping couples create incredible memories in a relaxed and enjoyable way. Whether you’re planning a small registry office wedding or a full-scale celebration, my approach remains the same: capturing real moments while also crafting stunning, artistic images that feel authentic. If you’re looking for an Abersoch wedding photographer who can blend documentary storytelling with dramatic, fun imagery, I’d love to be part of your day.
