A few weeks before Laura and Chris were due to tie the knot at Talhenbont Hall, we met up for their engagement shoot on one of my favourite local spots – Quarry Beach in Abersoch.

This little stretch of coastline is a bit of a hidden gem. It’s tucked away from the busier parts of Abersoch, and it offers a mix of dramatic rock formations, wide open sands, and sweeping views over Cardigan Bay – perfect for relaxed, natural photos. As a North Wales-based photographer, I always love coming back here. It’s a place I know well, and it never disappoints, especially in the early morning or late afternoon light.

Laura and Chris were getting married not long after this session, and you could really feel the excitement starting to build. They were relaxed and easy to photograph and the quieter setting of Quarry Beach gave us plenty of space to wander and take our time. The sea in the background and the dramatic cliffs gave a beautiful sense of scale to the shots.

Engagement shoots can be a great way to ease any nerves about being in front of the camera, and it means that by the time the wedding comes around, we’re already on the same page.
