If there's one memory that I'll take away from Donna & Paul's wedding it will be LAUGHTER!
Donna & Paul’s wedding landed in early autumn, bringing with it a cocktail of wind, rain, and laughter. Colshaw Hall, as ever, proved itself a gift to photographers— a brilliant venue with plenty of options, natural light and indoor spaces when we needed to dodge the worst of the weather.. sometimes you just have to accept that its October in Cheshire, not July in Tuscany!
We worked around the elements with a bit of choreography and a lot of Donna and Paul’s good humour. When the wind picked up, they leaned into it, when the rain arrived, I got wet (they didn’t, that’s my job). After the wedding breakfast we grabbed bridesmaid Sophie as our glamorous assistant and ventured into the house itself and used the venue’s walkways and interiors to get some editorial style couple shots which, after a little experimentation and a lot of laughs, produced some pretty good results.
Colshaw makes this kind of work easier. The architecture does half the framing for you, and the staff know how to keep things moving without rushing. Donna and Paul made the rest easy. They were up for anything, laughed throughout, and never once asked if we could “just Photoshop the rain out.”.
Here’s just a handful of photos, I promise to get the rest online in couple of weeks - or whenever I've caught up with my editing - whichever comes first!
Thanks as always to the incredible staff at Colshaw for looking after us all so well x
