Adam contacted me back in April to ask if I could help him arrange for photography of him proposing to his girlfriend Lucy. Several months & much planning later, we had the fine detail worked out and even the weather and tides came together to add the final touches.

I arranged to meet Adam at 6pm down at Porth Ceiriad, one of the most beautiful beaches on the Llyn Peninsula on the outskirts of Abersoch and one of our personal favourites. The spectacular, prehistoric cliffs and the long sandy beach provide a fantastic backdrop for portraits and the scene was set.

Me, Cass & Lily arrived a little early and as Adam & Lucy approached, we pretended to be holding our own private photoshoot. After a moment or two, Adam dropped down onto one knee and popped the question while I captured the moment from a tactful distance using a telephoto lens.

We spent the next 30 minutes using the beach for a series of natural, fun portraits before Lucy & Adam headed back into Abersoch for a celebration at The Potted Lobster, an amazing local restaurant that I recommended to Adam.

A surprise proposal shoot requires planning, patience & a little bit of luck with the weather and to be asked to capture such an amazing moment in a young couple’s lives is a real privilege.

If you’re about to propose and would like it photographed at one of the many world beating locations we have here on the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales, please get in touch at let me help you make it a reality!
